"Christianity in Western Europe on the Eve of the Reformation." Speaker: Prof. Matthew Sneider, University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth. Location: Grace Church, 300 Westminster Street. Free and open to the public. Commemorative Series on the 500th Anniversary of the Protestant Reformation (1517-2017) Join us for an ecumenical commemoration of the Reformation, hosted by three churches in the City of Providence: Calvary Baptist, Central Congregational, and Grace Episcopal. A series of 4 lectures in October (the month that Martin Luther is said to have started the Reformation by posting his 95 Theses), each session will begin with a reception and conclude with a period of Q&A with the speakers, who join us from churches and colleges throughout Providence. The series concludes on All Saints’ Sunday (November 5th) with a Reformation Evensong service at 5 p.m., featuring music of the 16th century. All lectures take place on Wednesdays at 6 p.m.
